LAKES CLASSIFICATION MEETING, MONDAY, APRIL 14, 2008, 5 P.M. LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER
Present: Wayne Pawlak, Tom Metnik, Gary Gaier, Arian Knops, Bob Wiltrout, Fred Cook, Al Lechleitner, John Stencil, Phil Schneider, Bob Lorkowski, Jason Gillis, Bob Nelson, Paula Carow, Kathleen Seilheimer, John Styczinski Jr. Others present: Ken Parejko and CeCe Tesky.
The meeting was called to order by Chair Wiltrout at 5 PM.
Minutes of March meeting were reviewed. Motion to approve March minutes by Gary Gaier, 2nd by B. Nelson. Carried
Chair report: Bob invited us to a BBQ at his house on May 22, 2008. His address is W6730 Eagles Rd.
Ken reviewed the summary of paleocore results. He then explained his re-analysis of the correlation between chlorophyll and dwellings/Aft on a lake. Depending on the factors considered and assumptions made, the correlation varied from 88% to 93%. We reviewed what correlations are and what they are not; same for multiple regressions. Correlations don’t address where the phosphorous is coming from. Ken recommends that the 93% correlation should be removed from the Power Point. Motion by F. Cook, 2nd by J. Gillis. Carried.
Questions about Pulaski being so clear – because of the wetland to the north of it???
Motion by F. Cook, 2nd by T. Metnik to not include Ken’s analysis on the website of the lake association.
Motion by B. Wiltrout, 2nd by J. Gillis to include a note on the Power Point that information about correlations and regressions and other background information is available through the Zoning office.
Note: The correlation figures arrived at so far relate to the sampled lakes only.
Questions by J. Stencil about what the purpose of Lynn Marcom’s presentation is. Questions about whether or not presentation is tied to regulations or is it just information gathering. Comment that her presentation is to answer questions presented by Ken, and a few others, not the entire committee. There were several questions during her presentation.
Next meeting will be May 12, 2008 at 5:00 p.m.
Motion by F. Cook to hold a public hearing/meeting early in June, 2nd by J. Stencil. Carried. It would coincide with our meeting (probably June 9th).
Motion to adjourn by J. Stencil/2nd by W. Pawlak. Carried.
