Lakes Classification Meeting Minutes Monday, July 9, 2007 Law Enforcement Center, Courthouse
The meeting was called to order by Chair, B. Wiltrout at 5 p.m.
Motion by J. Styzinski, second by K.Seilheimer to accept the June minutes. Motion carried.
Mark Steward has taken the Zoning Administrator job in Sauk County. His last day here is July 20th.
In attendance at the Wisconsin Association of Lakes (WAL) Meeting were B Wiltrout and K. Seilheimer. There was a lot of information available and some samples were presented for us to look at. We discussed some of them.
B. Lorkowski is scheduled for August 10th by Chippewa Valley Technical Institute and WAL. Information was distributed.
Ken P. explained the use of a secchi disc, and what the numbers mean and don’t mean.
He also showed us the temperature probe he used.
Other sampling equipment was demonstrated.
We looked at sampling results so far. A field data sheet is used for every sampling of every lake which contains more information than what is on the summary sheet. Ken reviewed all the readings. Questions were answered about availability of sampling documentation.
The Flambeau River State Forest is surveying citizens about road building and logging in the forest. Jason will bring copies of the survey next month.
The next meeting is scheduled for August 13, 2007 at 5:00 p.m. at the Law Enforcement Center in the Courthouse.
